Corissa, an 11 year-old Maryknoll student battling acute lymphoblastic leukemia, loves shopping and amusement parks, so when Make-A-Wish volunteers asked her what her number one wish would be, Corissa went online to find a location that had both. Bingo! Mall of America! Through a grant to Make-A-Wish from Jewelers Charity Fund for Children, Corissa and her family flew to Minnesota for a whirlwind assault on the Mall. Corissa shop, shop, shopped, had a special makeover at Glamour Shots for Kids, rode the Timberland Twister, drove the Daytona NASCAR circuit, hit the video arcade and the candy corner, checked out Camp Snoopy and got a taste of the March weather in the chilly Midwest. Jewelers Charity Fund for Children representatives in both Honolulu and MOA presented Corissa with special jewelry pieces to commemorate her trip. In celebration of her being the 500th Hawaii child to have her wish granted, Corissa also received a special proclamation from Honolulu Mayor, Jeremy Harris.
