Local Triathlete Raises $28,000 for Make-A-Wish at 2008 Ironman World Championship Triathlon

With the help of business associates, family, friends and even strangers, Honolulu resident and triathlete, Aaron Wallen, raised over $ 54,000 for his effort at the 2007 Ironman World Championship Triathlon held in Kailua-Kona in October and he's done it again this year raising $28,000 for this year's challenge.

To compete in this race and to have the strength to finish it is the dream of every triathlete. Make-A-Wish is about the hopes and dreams of children who have life-threatening medical conditions, about giving them the strength to fight their illness. These funds will be used to grant wishes on all islands.

Make-A-Wish, Hawaii thanks everyone who helped Aaron and in turn helped us continue to say “yes” to the dreams of these very special island children, who bravely face the most difficult of battles.
