Walktoberfest 2008, a 5k Run & Walk and 1 mile Family Walk, presented by General Motors and The Walt Disney Company with additional support from Atlas Insurance Agency Foundation was deemed a success in spite of Mother Nature shedding a considerable amount of tears! The event brought people of all ages together at Kakaako Waterfront Park to participate in a magical event designed just for them that raised 10,000 dollars for the kids of Make-A-Wish who were the inspiration for the day’s events. There were plenty of prizes, entertainment, food, and various other festival activities. All proceeds from the event will be used to grant wishes for Hawaii keiki fighting life-threatening medical conditions. Everyone is a winner! WIZARDS who also helped to make the magic happen were First Hawaiian Bank, Production Hawaii, Menehune Water Co., TSS Photography, d.otani Produce, Kulia Grill, Murphy's Bar & Grill, Kraft Foods, Lay's, Otis Spunkmeyer.
