We grant the wishes of children in Hawaii with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. Make-A-Wish®, Hawaii, as we are usually called, represents the local chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of America headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona. Our mission reflects the life-changing impact that a Make-A-Wish® experience has on children, families, referral sources, donors, sponsors, and entire communities. Since incorporating in 1982, Make-A-Wish®, Hawaii, is proud to have served over 750 children.
Kai wanted to see snow and boy did he ever see it! And then some. Kai’s wish to see snow and go snowboarding was granted in December. Thanks to a generous grant from the James Haruji Tamura and Fumiko Tamura Foundation, Kai and his family traveled to Heavenly Valley, California, where they learned to snowboard, tried skiing and also went snowmobiling, sledding and tubing. Talk about a White Christmas!
